Amen Ra & Vibezin sind seit 1999 gemeinsam als United Vibes aktiv, unter anderem als Gäste in Kode 9’s früherer Groovetech Show oder als Residents bei Darkquan’s Texture Recordings Nights in Sheffield. Musikalisch sozialisiert in der UK Jungle-Hardcore Bewegung der 90er-Jahre, verbinden sie düstere 2-Step/Garage Sounds mit einer Art Cut-up-Dubstep, in dem sich Hardcore/Jungle, Sci-fi-Jazz, indische Percussion, Afrobeat und Bollywood-Kitsch zu sumpfigem, hoch-infektiösem London-Bass vermengen.

Im Rahmen des LHF-Showcases entwerfen sie dabei gemeinsam mit Double Helix einen dystopischen Gegenentwurf zu Unterwasser-Welten Drexciyas. Die akustische Dichte Lodon bietet den idealen Ausgangspunkt zur Schaffung eines fiktiven Soundtracks scheinbar vergessener Zivilisationen, versunkener Suburbs und verschwundener Rhythmus-Stämme.

Die United Vibes Radioshow wird jeden Sonntag um 22h auf dem Londoner Sub FM ausgestrahlt. (Hörbeispiel: LHF-Showcase Vol.5, 60min/56mb)

Der Abend wird mit einem Experimental/Drones-Set von BB eröffnet, von dem ausgehend Jay-S zu 2-Step, Jungle und Dubstep überleiten wird. Nach den Gästen aus London wird IZC noch seine neue “Arctic Dawn EP” vorstellen, die Ende Mai auf Dubsquare Records erscheint.
